Portrait of Chirag Speaks
your story, by your pen

Chirag Speaks is The Brand Historian™. He has spent the last decade traveling the world studying the rise and fall of brands, tracing 500 years of history to answer one question: how do organizations and people survive times of change? The answer, in every era he has studied, is narrative.

The brands that endure are the ones that know their story will be written and it’ll be by their pen.

Chirag is also a Resident Brand Evangelist at Google, advising some of the world’s largest advertisers on brand strategy and global narrative, where he also once served as the youngest Platinum Customer Success Lead in Google history.

You may have seen him on television as a featured brand expert across three seasons of The HISTORY Channel’s The Mega Brands That Built America, appearing alongside figures like Gary Vaynerchuk. Online, an audience of 75,000+ follows his brand storytelling, with more than 35 million views across platforms.

Before the stages and the screen

My crib was at the store.

My first toy was my dad’s credit card machine. I grew up in a small business family, and we didn’t have consultants, MBAs, or college programs to help us get through the tough days.

I watched people line up for Modell’s across the street while we worked to get customers through our own door. I wanted to understand why. So I started learning as much as I could about marketing and branding, and teaching it to nonprofits and local businesses.

That’s still the point of the work: helping you understand the stories you’re telling, and giving you something practical you can do with them.

What organizers should know

Every talk is tailored to your room. Chirag researches your industry’s own history, interviews your attendees, and arrives early to gather stories from your city that end up on stage. Organizers consistently describe him as one of the most engaging speakers their conference has ever booked.

Let’s put it this way

In the span of 3 months, Chirag spoke to 4 different business associations ranging from the American Home Furnishings Alliance to the National Broadband Association, and feedback centered around how tailored his talk was to the on-the-ground reality of their members. This is because our team researches your industry, Chirag hosts a focus group with some of your attendees, and he spends the time to meet your attendees and learn what’s top of mind for them.

What is the Message?

One message, five hundred years of proof

I have spent the last decade of my life traveling the world studying the last 500 years of how brands and institutions rise and fall, and the pattern holds through every depression, war, and technological upheaval: the organizations that survive change are the ones that step back and ask what story they’re trying to tell, while everyone else rushes ahead trying to keep up.

Your audience is living through one of those moments right now, and the changes are stacking on top of each other: a global re-alignment of alliances and supply chains, new consumer behaviors like the K-economy and conscious consumerism, and everyone’s favorite keywords, AI and machine learning. Here’s what I tell every room: the issue is not change. We’ve survived change before. The issue is noise. A flood of machine-generated content is arriving at a human brain that can only take in about 120 bits of information per second, and the world is about to get much noisier.

The only way through it is a story simple enough to be retold. I believe stories create clarity, and clarity creates choice. So that’s what I bring your room: the discipline of knowing your story, telling it simply, and repeating it until your audience echoes your own words back to you. Because after 500 years of evidence, the number one lesson is that Good Brands Simply Do Not Whisper.
